Two years after the end of the Great War…

After having blasted the world into an abyss of destruction and confusion, General Morden’s coup d’etat was only narrowly suppressed by the General Army’s counterattack. The key players in the success of the counterattack, Marco and Tarma, were promoted. Even as they enjoyed the peace they helped bring about, they both dedicated themselves to the resurgence of the Peregrine Falcon special forces squad.

Then one day, Marco and Tarma received a summons to appear at the General Army staff headquarters. It was being reported that the Morden faction had recently become active. The power of Morden’s Rebellion Army had already been almost entirely drained, yet there was an unexpectedly high number of sympathizers in both the upper echelons of power in the General Army as well as in the governments of various countries around the world, all having been influenced by General Morden’s calls against corruption. Though the incidents of small-scale rebellion and resistance were sporadic, they showed no signs of ceasing. On the contrary, the recent rebellions had become more organized and were gradually becoming more systematic. Analysis of information from around the world resulted in clear indications of the existence of a large-scale strategy made up of rebellions in each territory. There is but one man who could have drafted, executed and orchestrated such a broad strategy…

The Devil rebirth: General Morden.

Can Morden’s shadow not be erased even after the passing of 2 years? But even Morden could not possibly prepare for a second coup d’etat within such a short time. Is Morden really still alive?
If he is alive, then when and by what means will he begin his coup d’etat?
And what is the secret to his ability to prepare for another coup d’etat so quickly?
Marco and Tarma have been given the secret duty to forestall the Rebellion Army and prevent the outbreak of a second coup d’etat. The operation will be a difficult one, as it will require a small elite unit to make sneak attacks and destroy the Rebellion Army’s military plans. Naturally this demands the highest level of security. Even their superiors have been left unaware of the entire picture in order to prevent information from leaking to the Morden faction. And most important of all, the people of the world who still fear Morden’s shadow must not be alarmed.

Though their duty could be said to be even more difficult than the last great war, they accepted it immediately. If Morden was still alive then it was time to make sure he would never draw another breath. Though the two soldiers were dedicated, there would turn out to be an unexpected condition that would come with their duties.

That condition would be that a combined attack would be carried out along with the intelligence agency’s special operations unit, the S.P.A.R.R.O.W.S.
Though the two heroes intended to take care of business with the PF squad alone, staff headquarters would not listen. There was no reason Marco or Tarma would understand that this was the result of a complicated entanglement between the information agency, with their burning rivalry against the operational unit and the top brass, with their antagonism toward the agency. In the end it was left unsettled and the generals pushed the plan forward for better or worse.

On the day of the operation two soldiers from S.P.A.R.R.O.W.S. arrived. They would be Eri and Fio, two young women.

“Sergeant Eri Kasamoto here. Call me Eri.”
“Um, well, it is an incredible honor to be able to meet the two esteemed heroes from the last great war. I am Master Sergeant Fiolina Germi of the S.P.A.R.R.O.W.S. Though this is my first operation of such epic proportions, I assure you I can hold my own and will give everything I have in battle. It is a pleasure to serve with you.”
“Come on Marco, are we seriously gonna fight alongside this chicks!?”
“Right now we have more pressing matters to deal with. It’s time. Move out!”

With those words the operation to suppress the coup d’etat began. Will Marco and his allies be able to prevent the second coup d’etat before it begins? Is Morden really still alive? And what is the Rebellion Army’s terrifying secret?
