Geese Howard, the ruler of Southtown, again sponsors the mighty "King of Fighters" tournament this year. His powers are at their very peak. However, he has yet to discover the destiny that awaits him, the "Battle of Destiny" ...
Ten years ago, after watching Geese kill their foster father, the Bogard brothers Terry and Andy embarked on a harsh journey of martial arts training. Now, they finally return to Southtown for revenge. However, it is no mean feat getting close to Geese, who rules the town with an iron fist behind the scenes. Terry and Andy grow more and more impatient as the days pass.
Then, a man approaches the vengeful brothers. His name is Joe Higashi. In town to participate in the mightiest of martial arts tournaments, Joe reveals to Terry and Andy that the sponsor of the big event is none other than Geese himself. The brothers see this as their perfect chance to approach Geese, and they decide to enter the tournament. Then finally, the day of reckoning arrives... Just what will be the outcome of this great "Battle of Destiny"...?
