Press left or right on to change the direction of your shot. Hold up or down on to change the height.

Press to begin your backswing.

Decide the extent of your swing
Press during your backswing to end it. A longer backswing sends the ball farther.

Determine the impact
After ending your backswing, press to determine the position of impact. If the indicator on your hit-power meter is pointing at the white spot, your shot will fly straight. If it is to the left, you will slice to the right. If it is to the right, you will hook to the left. If you don't press to determine the impact, then Mario will miss the ball and one stroke will be added to your score.
