| Ducking | Press down on  to duck. You can only duck when you are Super Mario or Fire Mario. |

| Entering pipes | Press down on to enter pipes that open on the top, up on to enter pipes that open on the bottom, or right on to enter pipes that open on the left. |

| Climbing beanstalks | Press up or down on to climb up or down beanstalks. |

|
|

| Defeating enemies | Defeat enemies by jumping on top of them or jumping and hitting the block that they are standing on from underneath. It is also possible to defeat enemies by kicking shells at them. If you are Fire Mario, you can defeat many enemies by throwing fireballs at them. |
