Weapons & Rush
When the boss in each stage is defeated, Mega Man will obtain that boss’s weapon. In addition, when certain bosses are defeated, features of Mega Man’s robot dog Rush are added. Rush can use the Rush Coil move from the beginning of the game.
To use Rush Coil, press during the game. Once Weapon Box 1 is displayed, press , or select NEXT and press , or to switch to Weapon Box 2. Use to select a new Robot Master Weapon, Rush Feature, or Energy Tank, then confirm the selection with or .
When a Robot Master’s Weapon or Rush Feature is used, the Weapon Energy gauge will gradually be depleted. The Weapon Energy Gauge can be refilled by collecting Weapon Energy items (p. 9). When a new stage is selected, all energy is restored (excluding some stages). Furthermore, there is no need to refill Mega Man’s starting weapon, the Arm Cannon.
Introduction of
Rush Features
RUSH
COIL
(RC)
Rush will turn into a springboard, allowing Mega Man to perform high jumps. This Rush Feature is available from the beginning of the game.
RUSH
MARINE
(RM)
Rush will change into a submarine, which improves Mega Man’s movement underwater. If called on land Rush will quickly disappear.
RUSH
JET
(RJ)
Rush will become a jet, allowing Mega Man to reach high, faraway places.
Note:
Only one Rush Feature can be called up on the screen.
 
For Rush Marine and Rush Jet, the Weapon Energy gauge will be depleted for as long as these features are in use. For Rush coil, Weapon Energy is depleted every time you jump using the Rush Coil.
 
When using the Rush Jet or Rush Marine feature, pressing will open Weapon Box 1 and cancel the feature. However, if you cancel Rush Jet whilst above spikes or a pit you will be unable to avoid falling so exercise caution.
