| Picking Up and Throwing a Barrel | Press  next to a barrel to pick it up, and release to throw the barrel. Press up on  and release  to hurl the barrel up, and press down on and release to put the barrel down. |

| Teaming Up | Press  while Diddy and Dixie are together to lift your partner up, and press to throw them. Use this technique to attack enemies or reach areas that are normally inaccessible. |

| Hop On/Hop Off Animal Friends | Press  to jump on an animal friend and press  to hop off. You can mount Enguarde just by getting close to him. |

|
|
| Rolling Attack/Ponytail Spin | Press to make Diddy perform a rolling attack or to make Dixie perform a ponytail attack to defeat enemies. Keep in mind that some enemies can’t be defeated with this attack. Press and hold after Dixie jumps to slow your descent. |
