Advanced Controls


Jump	Tap for a short jump. Hold for a higher jump.

Upgrading Weapons	The Turrican Assault Suit uses three major types of weapons. These are activated by collecting flashing coloured icons found in the game world. Each weapon can be upgraded five times. Each colour corresponds to a different kind of weapon. Red: A powerful Spread Shot. Effective in open areas. Blue: The mighty Laser. Good against tough enemies. Yellow: The Bounce Shot. Useful in cramped quarters.

The Freeze-Beam	Activate the Freeze-Beam by holding down or . You can change the direction of the beam by pressing left or right on when you use it. Any vulnerable enemy hit by the beam will be frozen for a few seconds. Some large enemies cannot be frozen.

The Smart-Line	If you're surrounded by enemies, fire the Smart-Line with or to destroy anything in your way.

The Energy Wheel	If you hold down and press , the Turrican Assault Suit will transform into a nearly invulnerable Energy Wheel. In this form, you can fit in tight spaces, lay mines, and drop bombs while in the air. You can stay in Energy Wheel mode for a limited time, as shown by the bar under your energy indicator. When this “wheel time” runs out, the Turrican Assault Suit will revert to its regular form. Wheel time will be replenished every time you enter a new level. To manually revert to your suit's regular form, press while on the ground.
