When you pick up a laser unit (more information on page 9), the Force Pod will appear. Each subsequent unit you obtain will power up your Force Pod, up to a maximum of three levels. While you have the Force Pod, laser units you acquire will give you one of five different types of laser.

The Force Pod is indestructible and it can absorb many kinds of enemy bullets to help protect your ship.

Launching and pulling in the Force Pod

When you have a Force Pod, press or to launch it off on its own. The Force Pod will continue to attack even when it’s not attached to the main ship. When the Force Pod is detached, you cannot shoot lasers, but the Force Pod will shoot in up to four different directions, depending on its power-up level. To pull the Force Pod back to the main ship, press or .

The Force Pod will either attach itself to the front or rear of your ship, depending on your position. When attached to the front, it will fire forwards; when attached to the rear, it will fire backwards.
