 The game starts with three lives, but you can gain lives and earn credits to continue the game by collecting item(s). You will lose one life if you are attacked without any Rings in possession.
The game ends when you lose all of Sonic’s lives, but if you have at least one Continue, a countdown will appear. Press  before the time reaches zero to retry the ACT you were playing from the beginning.
