Powerball is divided into four quarters of 2 minutes and 30 seconds by default. Each quarter starts off with a scramble. Players face off to fight for possession of the ball. After a team scores, the opposing team kicks to restart the match. Ties are broken by extended time in Sudden Death mode, where the first team to score wins.
Scoring
There are two ways to score points:
Goal |
Kick or throw the ball against the opponent's Goal Board to score one point. |
Touchdown |
Run the ball into the End Zone (the red area in front of the Goal Board) for a three point Touchdown. |
The team with the higher score after the fourth quarter wins. In the event of a tie, the game will enter Sudden Death mode. The first team to score wins.
Bonus Point Allocation
During League and two-player Exhibition Mode, players are given Bonus Points. After selecting a team, use  to select the statistic of the player you wish to increase. Press  ( for Classic Controller) to add five points, or  ( for Classic Controller) to remove five points. Up to 60 Bonus Points can be allocated to a maximum of 100 per statistic.
