 Every ACT has at least one hidden room with a giant ring. Leaping into the ring will teleport you to the Special Stage. This is your chance to collect one of the seven Chaos Emeralds. Grab the Blue Spheres and avoid the Red Spheres.
When you collect all of the Blue Spheres, a CHAOS EMERALD will
appear. When you find a block of Blue Spheres (at least 3x3), touch all of the
perimeter Spheres to turn them all into RINGS. You can earn
a Continue Credit if you manage to collect 50 or more RINGS and
a PERFECT bonus if you collect every ring in the Stage.
When the Special Stage is over, you will return to the Act Stage and carry on from where the giant ring was located.
Note: Touching a Red Sphere will immediately end the Special Stage and return you to the Act Stage.
