This software is a Virtual Console version of the title Wave Race 64 released in 1997 for the Nintendo 64. You may notice messages and menus describing a “Controller Pak”, but this software does not use the Controller Pak hardware.

Championship Compete against three computer-controlled players in a race on the waves. Select a difficulty setting and choose if you want to warm up or start the race. In both cases you have to select a watercraft. (You will not be able to pick your difficulty until you clear the Normal setting.) Final standings are determined by the total number of points for each player, and you must win a predetermined number of points to advance to the next round. Before starting, you can also select WARM UP to experiment freely with the moves and stunts.
Time Trials Race the clock to get the best time.
Because the Virtual Console version of this game does not use the Controller Pak, you cannot save Ghost Data of your race.
Stunt Mode Race the clock and get the best score on one lap of a course by clearing rings and pulling off acrobatic stunts. You must pass a checkpoint halfway through the lap within the time allotted, or your run will end.
2P VS. Race against a friend on a split screen.
Options Change rider names and view records here. You can also adjust various settings or erase data.
During multiplayer games, each player will need a controller compatible with the Virtual Console. For more information, please refer to the Wii Operations Manual.
