In the Customize Skater section of the Locker Room, players can equip their custom character with any gear they own.

Unlike the real-life skaters of the Women's Flat Track Derby Association, who cannot be customized, the player's personal avatar can be customized in a number of ways: Body and Body Type, Arms, Legs, Helmet, Helmet Cover, Hair, Skates, Masks and Jersey Numbers. Some of the customizations will have an impact on the skater's statistics; others will not.

A player will not immediately have access to all customization options. Some items must be purchased from the Store, using income generated from season play. Any gear which identifies the wearer as a member of a team cannot be accessed while the player is a member of a different team.

A player can try on any item to which they have access; items will not be affixed to the player's avatar until they select the EQUIP option associated with that item.
