To restore peace again, someone has to penetrate the giant World Tree and overthrow the Evil One that lives in the Evil Place. It is your mission to set out on this journey, bearing the hopes of the people of Eolis.

Control the main character and journey forwards and upwards through the World Tree, defeating monsters, visiting towns and hunting down the Evil One.
Defeating monsters will yield experience, food and gold pieces. Food will heal you, while you can use money to buy items and services in nearby towns. Keep yourself well stocked – you never know what dangers might be around the corner.
If your power bar is fully depleted, your character is defeated and cannot continue. You will restart from the last Guru you visited.

If you gain enough experience points through defeating monsters, you may be eligible for a new rank. Visit the Guru regularly to get these new ranks. Your rank determines how many experience points and how much money you have after restarting using a password, or after your character is defeated.
