Playing the Game

Connect the falling Puyo in any horizontal or vertical combination of at least four of the same color to make them disappear. By eliminating Puyo on your side of the field, it is possible to send Blocking Puyo to your opponent’s field. By creating combos, you will be able to send a greater number of Blocking Puyo.

There are three types of Blocking Puyo: Normal Puyo, Hard Puyo and Score Puyo. Normal Puyo require one adjacent elimination, while Hard Puyo require two adjacent eliminations to be cleared. Score Puyo only require a single adjacent elimination, and your score is increased for eliminating this type of Blocking Puyo. By default, you will only encounter Normal Blocking Puyo.

If your opponent has sent Blocking Puyo your way, you can eliminate them before they hit your field by sending Blocking Puyo of your own. This strategy is called SOUSAI (“Canceller”). If the third column from the left is completely filled with Puyo, you will lose the match. This is the same column that your Puyo will begin dropping in from.
