When the Life Gauge is completely depleted or you run out of time, you will lose a Life. You start the game with three lives and the game will end when all of your lives are lost. A Game Over/Continue option will appear at the end of your game (see the top section of the screen). Press up or down to select either CONTINUE to continue play or NEW GAME to quit the game.

Note that the number displayed next to CONTINUE is your remaining credits, and when this runs out, the game is truly over.
